Calmore Junior School's first sporting event of a busy year ahead! Twelve pupils from across Year 3 and 4 got to visit Testwood (Big School) as part of the inclusive sports festival today. It's always such a great occasion but for our newest members of the school, it's also takes a bit of bravery and courage to step into a completely different environment at such an early stage of the year. Step forward our 'experienced' Year 4s who, having experienced the same butterflies last year, were able to support and encourage their younger Calmore teammates. It was such a great thing to witness - pupils who had previously taken a gentle push to try something new, now full of confidence, self-belief and friendship. The wind blew but the rain held off. A great start to the year. And there's so much more to look forward to with both girls and boys football, cross country, orienteering, Sportshall athletics, basketball and dodgeball all on the calendar this term!
