Sporting competitions

On Wednesday, a group of 6 children from across Year 3 and Year 4 took part in a multi-skills event at Testwood School. Amber, Thomas, Olivia, Harvey, Zac and Jayden competed in a range of different sports and games including target throw, obstacle course and relay races. They all had a great time and were fantastic ambassadors for the school – Olivia winning a medal for her wonderful teamwork and determination throughout the event. Well done all of you!

Yesterday, another Y3/4 event saw 10 boys take part in a 3G football festival once again at Testwood. The first hour saw the boys move round a selection of different games and skills -based challenges including speed tunnel and target shooting. The final hour saw the squad of boys play 7-a-side matches against the other schools. Considering the children had not played for the school before let alone played in the same team together, they worked hard for each other and never gave up in each of their 5 minute matches. Results were not recorded as the focus was on ‘Social Me’ – how they worked together, supported one another and demonstrated each of the School Games Values. Jackson was awarded a medal for showing great resilience after continuing to give his all despite a few knocks and bumps. Well done to the whole team: Alfie, Harry P, Harry W, Harvey, Israel, Jackson, James, Carson, Isaac and Max.
