When Remote Education Is Used
Remote education may be provided when:

A class or group is required to learn from home

The school needs to provide short-term home learning
Teachers will always communicate clearly when remote learning is required.
What Your Child Will Need
To take part in remote learning, your child will need:

A device (laptop, Chromebook, tablet, or desktop computer)

Internet access

Their Calmore Junior School Google login details

A quiet space to work where possible
If you have difficulties accessing a device or the internet, please contact the school office.
Using Google Classroom
Google Classroom is the main platform used for remote education at Calmore Junior School.
Logging In

Go to classroom.google.com

Sign in using your child’s school Google account

Select your child’s class from the homepage
If your child cannot see their class, please inform the school.
Daily Learning
Teachers will post:

Children should:

Complete the work set

Submit work through Google Classroom where requested

Do their best and ask for help if they are unsure
Teachers understand that home situations vary and will set manageable and age-appropriate tasks.

Children are encouraged to read feedback and improve their work
If your child is struggling, please contact the class teacher or the school office.
Online Safety
While learning remotely, children should:

Never share passwords or personal information
Parents are encouraged to supervise online activity where possible.
Attendance and Engagement

Children are expected to engage with remote learning when it is provided
